Processing of Personal Data
Latvijas Banka processes personal data of natural persons in accordance with the requirements of existing laws and regulations. Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) is applicable as of 25 May 2018.
Personal data are processed in the information systems of the Latvijas Banka by its employees or their authorised persons for the performance of their duties.
The Latvijas Banka processes and stores the personal data as long as necessary for exercising the functions laid down in laws and regulations and as long as it is justified by statutory provisions. To prevent the data from unauthorised access, processing or disclosure, as well as their alteration or destruction, relevant technical and organisation measures have been implemented for the data protection.
